You may have seen the image for the forth coming book from Black Front Press on the NSVR blog. Here is another image of the flag below.
The flag was actually made by myself, I'm pleased to say! Whilst printed and mass produced flags are OK for rallies or just flying until they come apart this flag is a ritual item. It was entirely hand made, with the use of an old fashion Singer sewing machine (so no electricity used in making it). It was made some 10 years ago and it is used at many folk-moots. Every rune was chanted whilst being attached to the flag.
The design is based on the concept of the Gar rune being the Sacred Centre. Running from the corners towards the centre are four arms, with the remaining 32 runes of the Ar Kan rune row. This gives a total of 33 runes. The colours are of course those of Eternal Germania and the three Norns.
I made numerous ritual flags and banners at the time, mainly for Woden's Folk, but other groups as well. If I'm able to find any old photos I'll be sure to include them on this blog!
